2025 closed out as a year of remarkable resilience. The economy delivered a soft landing with Q3 GDP growth accelerating to 4.3%, the S&P 500 climbed roughly 17% for its third straight year of double-digit gains, and the Bloomberg US Aggregate Bond Index returned about 7% as fixed income reclaimed its role as a portfolio stabilizer.
Beneath the headline numbers, the story was rotation. Only two of the Magnificent 7 outperformed the S&P 500, market breadth widened meaningfully, and December brought a classic value-over-growth shift as investors rebalanced into financials, materials, and industrials.
